Indoor Playgrounds in Sydney

Looking for somewhere the kids can play when it’s raining but don’t want to fork out $20 a head for a kids’ cafe? Head to one of these shopping centre playgrounds instead!

(Fair warning - these playgrounds usually get pretty busy on wet weekends, so you might need to be prepared for a little chaos)

1. Supa Centa Moore Park

This is definitely our favourite indoor playground in Sydney, partly because it’s the biggest.

There’s the large, multi-story play area for “Supa Climbers” aged 3-8, and a smaller play area around the corner for “Supa Crawlers” aged 1-5 years. Ruby gave us a glimpse of both playgrounds here.

2. Westfield Eastgardens

Eastgardens has two separate playgrounds, plus a soft play area for little ones.

Head to Level 3 outside Woolies for the first kids playground (this one is only fenced on three sides, which my toddler takes full advantage of by running away). Best suited for 2-4 year olds.

The soft play area is currently at the other end of the same level, near Big W. This is surrounded by a perspex fence to contain the little ones. Best suited for under 18 months.

The final kids playground is on the Ground level, at the Myer end (same level as the Santa photos).

Address: 152 Bunnerong Rd, Eastgardens NSW 2036

3. Broadway Shopping Centre

The kids play area is on Level 3, next to Priceline. It’s fenced and features a slide, climbing web, mini trampolines and a climbing rocket structure for the slightly older kids. Best suited for 1 - 5 year olds.

The centre has 2 hour free parking. The parents room on Level 2 (same level as the food court) is a good one!

Address: 1 Bay St, Glebe NSW 2037

4. Royal Randwick Shopping Centre

This little shopping centre has two kids play areas on Level 1. There’s the fenced “Kids Zone” with large foam building blocks, some play kitchens, tables and chairs, percussion instruments and books, as well as the unfenced “Green Space” area outside Best n Less with more foam (and newer) building blocks on artificial grass.

There is also a parents room on Level 1 and usually one on the Ground Floor as well. However, as of November 2024 the Ground Floor parents room is closed for maintenance, so the Level 1 room can be quite busy.

The centre has 2 hour free underground parking.

Address: 73 Belmore Rd, Randwick NSW 2031 (Underground parking via Avoca Street)

5. Westfield Bondi Junction

The kids play area is on Level 5, near Kmart. There is some wear and tear in the playground, with one of the foam pillars having disintegrated slightly the last time I was here.

Best suited for 1-5 year olds.

One of the nearby cafes sometimes sets up a QR code for ordering coffees and getting them delivered right to the kids play area, so keep an eye out for that!

There is a parents room in the Food Court on Level 5.

Address: Hollywood Ave, Bondi Junction NSW 2022 (Best parking for the kids play area is the Westfield Bondi Junction P4/R1 Car Park and then take the lift to Level 5)

6. East Village Shopping Centre in Zetland

East Village has a play area for kids with a small, double story wooden play structure, and some wall-hung puzzles for little bubs. Best suited for 1 to 4 year olds. Word of warning -  this play area is unfenced and right next to the lifts (I’ve had to stop my toddler running into lifts as they open a couple of times). Other than that, it’s a small but sweet one!

The parents room in the centre is down a hallway between the Newsagent and Chemist. Look for signs towards the medical centre.

Address: 4 Defries Ave, Zetland NSW 2017
